WELCOME

I would like to help you to discover freedom from self-limiting patterns that lead to stress, conflict, and/or withdrawal from life. My approach supports you in being less identified with habitual ways of thinking and feeling that can keep you stuck in patterns that no longer work for you. You can learn to be less reactive and more compassionate with yourself and others.  You can move beyond conceptual knowledge into direct experiential understanding of your mind/body process. This mindfulness-based understanding of your life can lead you to deep and lasting positive change. This journey of discovery can help you open to live life with deeper contentment, balance and peace.  I see my role as being your guide on this journey.

My integrative mind/body approach is based on honesty, respect, and compassion. I am interested in learning about your strengths, goals, feelings and needs. I see strengths as the gateway to development and positive change.

I work with: trauma, depression, stress, anxiety, anger management, addictions, obsessions/compulsions, attention and impulse control, relationship distress, parenting, life transitions, grief, and spiritual growth. Some of the approaches I use include: acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, scientifically based relationship therapy (Gottman), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, mindfulness-based cagnitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based body centered therapy, and mindfulness meditation. I have taught mindfulness meditation for over fifteen years and have completed training with John Kabat-Zinn.

In addition to providing therapy I have extensive experience providing clinical supervision and consultation to therapists. I meet the requirements for supervising LCSW and LPC candidates

In practice since 1984, I am a seasoned and interactive therapist comiited to helping you clearify and reach your goals.
