I really enjoy playing a role in creating the conditions for emotional, psychological and spiritual growth to happen in my clients and students. The foundation of my approach to this work is mindfulness practice. I have personally practiced mindfulness meditation for over 30 years and have found it to be a transformative force in my life. I have received training from John Kabot Zinn. I have also completed the two and half year dharma leader training through Spirit Rock Meditation Center.
I am a licensed as a clinical social worker and professional counselor specializing in mindfulness-basedindividual, couples and family therapy. Prior to my work in private practice I had twenty years of clinical and management level experience in community mental health and social services.

I incorporate a blend of conventional western and alternative approaches, drawing upon a variety of styles and techniques to provide what will be most helpful for you. With sensitivity, compassion and supportive feedback, I will help you to build on your strengths to identify and achieve your therapy goals
I have extensive training in a variety of ways to do therapy. Some of the approaches I use include: acceptance and commitment therapy, scientifically-based marriage therapy(Gottman), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing(EMDR), narrative therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy,family systems therapy,mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based body centered therapy, and mindfulness meditation. I have taught mindfulness meditation for over fifteen years and have completed training with John Kabat-Zinn.
